Cosby launches another attack on black community
Bill Cosby told a room of African American activists that black children run around not knowing how to read or write, "going nowhere," and told black men, "Stop beating up your women because you can't find a job."
It was his second such tirade since May (SN reported). He answered detractors by saying they were trying to hide the community's "dirty laundry." ... "Your dirty laundry gets out of school at 2:30 ... cursing and calling each other n-----," he said.
Cosby was at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition & Citizen Education Fund's yearly conference. He was applauded several times and the Rev. Jesse Jackson defended him: "Bill is saying let's fight the fight .... Illiterate people can't do that."
