French Cannibal Kills Fellow Prisoner and Eats Brain
A 36 year-old inmate serving 30 years for murder and cannibalism had to be restrained by eight people after he used an ashtray to attack guards and other inmates, killing one inmate, cracking his skull open and starting to consume his brain.
The man was taken for psychiatric evaluation and police questioning, in which he stated that "he heard voices telling him he was going to be attacked during the meal" but claims he has no memories of the actual incident.
Several staff at the facility have received counselling. It is reported that the prisoner will not be returned to the general population of the prisoner after a complete psychological examination.
