"Muslims For Bush" Stir Controversy
Seeme Hasan and her son, Muhammad Ali Hasan, have created a group named “Muslims For Bush”. Their objective is to be a lobbyist group for Muslim causes within the Republican Party.
To further this point, Seeme and her husband, Malik, have donated more than $1 million towards Republican causes since 2000. Muslims who support Bush do so for the defeat of Saddam Hussein, Bush’s social conservatism and pro-business stances.
Yet many other Muslims say Bush has done more to hurt Muslims with his war on terrorism. Calls were made for a “Muslims For Bush” display to be taken down at a recent Islamic Society conference.
