Nador earthquake strikes again

Morocco TIMES 04/12/2004 | 13:15 GMT

An earthquake rocked Morocco’s Northern region of Nador this morning, a foreign teacher in a Nador private school told Morocco Times.

The quake, which hit around 11. a.m., appeared to be the strongest aftershock to yesterday’s 5.1 magnitude temblor. It struck the outskirts of Selouane and Laaroui.

According to another teacher, tens of people in Selouane are camped out in tents lest their homes should collapse.

Until now there has been no official statement about the estimates of the financial and human damages Nador sustained during these two past days.

Morocco Times contacted the local firefighting department. Our addressees denied the existence of anything worse happened since the release of the earthquake news.
