Moroccan King urges for a tolerant Islam
RABAT, Jan. 20 - HM King Mohammed VI of Morocco has urged for a tolerant Islam that bans all forms of fanaticism, extremism and terrorism.
In a message to the leaders of Islamic countries to congratulate them on Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice), the Moroccan monarch said this religious occasion encourages all Muslims to “highlight the image of the tolerant Islam that forbids all forms of fanaticism, extremism and terrorism.”
It also encourages Muslims to keep in spirit the “values of sacrifice, brotherhood and equity” and to “renew their ties with our holy religion and its path that is based on moderation and tolerance.”
HM King Mohammed VI, president of Al-Quds Committee, also voiced in the message Morocco’s constant support to the Palestinian authority and to its efforts to recover the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and establish an independent State with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as capital.
The Moroccan monarch also expressed solidarity with the Islamic States and all the countries hit by the Tsunami that left according to the latest toll over 200000 victims.
