Halve zonsverduistering op komst

Maandagmorgen is in heel Europa een gedeeltelijke zonsverduistering te zien. In Nederland wordt de zon kort na elf uur voor ruim de helft afgedekt door de maan. Bij zo’n gedeeltelijke verduistering wordt het niet donker, en het hemelverschijnsel is alleen te zien met een veilig filter, zoals een speciale eclipsbril.
De verduistering begint een paar minuten voor tien. Aan de rechter bovenrand van de zon is dan een klein ‘deukje’ zichtbaar. Rond vijf over elf is de eclips op zijn hoogtepunt. Om tien voor half één in de middag is het hele verschijnsel alweer achter de rug.
Pas in het jaar 2135 treedt in Nederland weer een totale verduistering op.
