Het zogenoemde ’Hofstadnetwerk’ heeft zich alleen maar uitgebreid sinds vermoedelijke leden zijn aangehouden. Een nieuwe arrestatiegolf in de zaak tegen het netwerk leidde gisteren tot ingrijpende veiligheidsmaatregelen.
Zes mannen tussen de 18 en 30 jaar en een vrouw van 24 werden gisteren aangehouden in Leiden, Den Haag, Amsterdam en Almere. Zij worden ervan verdacht dat zij aanslagen wilden plegen op politici en op het kantoor van de inlichtingendienst AIVD in Leidschendam.
Volgens minister Remkes van binnenlandse zaken behoren zij tot het ’Hofstadnetwerk’, de codenaam die de AIVD gaf aan een groep radicale moslims onder wie Mohammed B., de moordenaar van Theo van Gogh.
In december begint een monsterproces tegen twaalf mogelijke Hofstadleden die werden aangehouden na de moord op van Gogh. „Het Hofstadnetwerk heeft sinds de aanhoudingen zijn activiteiten niet gestaakt”, zei Remkes gisteren. „Het is in omvang toegenomen.” Met de arrestaties is niet de ’substantiële’ terrorismedreiging tegen Nederland verdwenen, aldus Remkes, maar wel een acute dreiging van aanslagen weggenomen.
Hoofdverdachte Samir A., die in Leiden werd opgepakt, was volgens de AIVD op zoek naar automatische vuurwapens en explosieven. A. en zijn medeverdachten werden aangehouden door een onderdeel van de zwaarbewapende Bijzondere Bijstands Eenheden. Het is de derde keer dat A. wordt opgepakt voor terrorisme. In april werd hij nog vrijgesproken van het voorbereiden van aanslagen, ook al had hij plattegronden van mogelijke doelwitten bij zich, zoals –ook toen– het Binnenhof en het AIVD-kantoor. Ook Jermaine W. werd gisteren aangehouden, in zijn woonplaats Almere.
Ten tijde van de arrestaties werden onder andere de ministeries van justitie en binnenlandse zaken en het AIVD-kantoor zwaar bewaakt. Het Binnenhof werd een groot deel van de dag afgesloten.
Die afgeslachte kafir in de Linnaeusstraat plus neergeschoten motoragent, het doorgeladen machinepistool bij Lelylaan en de ontplofte handgranaten in het Laakkwartier waren inderdaad wel heel doorzichtige dwaalsporen. Maar we laten ons niet gek maken. :)
PS: vond je de straf voor de Pakistanen nou te licht, of precies zwaar genoeg, vergeleken met die paar honderd doden in New Orleans?

The earthquakes: an admonition to mankind

Have fear and consciousness of Allah and ponder over events that happen around you. Learn lessons from them and remember, for the intelligent one is he who remembers and takes admonition. The topic of this article is the destructive earthquakes. The earthquake which cause thousands of people to die, cause loss of wealth and properties, and force people to seek refuge outside of their dwellings, being without their home and their wealth, and without food and drink.
The earthquake, which turns security into fear, richness into poverty, cause joined families to depart, and turn life into death. Without doubt, in it is a lesson for those who take lessons and a reminder for those who remember, so that they may return to their Lord and their Creator.
The Truthful, the Chosen one (as-Sadiq al-Mustafa) -- Prophet Muhammad (Sall Allaho alaihe wasallam) -- has informed us that a multitude of earthquakes is a sign of the proximity of the Hour. He informed us that they would be many at the end of the time.
Ahmad relates in a Hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah (Radhi Allaho anho) that the Holy Prophet (Sall Allaho alaihe wasallam) said, "The Hour will not happen until knowledge is taken out, time passes quickly, earthquakes increase in number, tribulations (fitan) appear, and "al-Harj" increases in number." It was said, "What is al-Harj, O the Holy Prophet?" He said, "Al-Qatl, al-Qatl (Killing)." A lot of what is mentioned in this Hadith has already materialised.
Happenings of earthquakes and the like from other destructive and disastrous events are the greatest evidence of the astonishing power of Allah. Earthquakes are from among the soldiers of Allah subjected to His order. Allah causes fear in the hearts of those whom He wills, teaches lessons whom He wills and punishes whom He wills.
"And none can know the forces of your Lord, except He." (74:31)
"For to Allah belong the forces of the heavens and the earth." (48:7)
If the Ummah leaves Allah's Shari`ah, ignores the religion of Allah and follows its enemies, Allah will subjugate it to His armies, which no one knows except He. From among these armies are the earthquakes.
"Such is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His seizure is painful and severe." (11:102)
"When We decide to destroy a town, We (first) send a definite order (to obey Allah and be righteous) to those among them who are given the good things of this life. Then, they transgress therein, and thus the word (of torment) is justified against (them). Then we destroy it with complete destruction." (17:16)
Allah with this earthquake makes clear to His servants a plain reality, that the kingdom of the heavens and the earth is in His Hands and that He is the Irresistible and Dominant over His servants.
Some people may be astonished by what the West has from the materialistic power, from various weapons, aircraft carriers, bombs, satellites, etc, and they forget that Allah allowed that piece of land to move and shake, being able to shake the force of the West and the East. Everything is in His Hands, He has power over all things, and no one in the Heavens and the Earth can weaken Him.
Appearance of the earthquakes, therefore, points us to a different reality that may be absent in the minds of some people, those who are busy with this world and who are servants of materialism. This earthquake also reminds us of the Day of Judgment. The Day when all of the earth will shake, and not only one part of it. Allah says:
"O mankind! Fear your Lord and be dutiful to Him! Verily, the earthquake of the Hour is a terrible thing. The Day you shall see it, every nursing mother will forget her nursling, and every pregnant one shall drop her load, and you shall see mankind as in a drunken state. Yet they will not be drunken, but the torment of Allah will be severe." (22:1-2)
Look what is left after the earthquake from destroyed buildings and houses, deaths of thousands, and families seeking refuge outside of their homes. What state is that in which everyone is running away, caring about nothing? So, what do you think of the Day of Judgment? "That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, and from his mother and his father, and from his wife and his children." (80:34-36)
"On the day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently." (79:6)
Allah warns His servants with this earthquake to learn a lesson and be admonished, and to be ready and prepare themselves for the Day of sorting out, the day of the great earthquake, that will shake all of the earth.
Allah has placed in this universe Sunan, fixed and manifest laws, neither do they change nor are they replaceable. He does not have any kinship with anyone, He is the sole Creator and Ruler, and He will question and hold accountable everyone, including prophets and messengers.
"Then surely, We shall question those to whom it (the Book) was sent and We shall question the Messengers." (7:6)
From among the established Sunan of Allah is that He does not send punishment except due to sin and He does not remove it except after repentance. Allah says, "Whatever misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned." (42:30)
Allah the Mighty and Majestic says: "Evil and mischief have appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned, that Allah may make them taste a part of that which they have done, in order that they may return (by repenting to Allah)." [30:41]
Every disaster and every calamity that befalls the servants is due to their sins and wrongdoing. So know, servants of Allah, what wrongdoing does to its doers.
What has taken Adam and Eve from the paradise except wrongdoing, and what Has drowned all of the people on the earth at the time of Nooh, to the point that water reached the peak of mountains, except wrongdoing? Who is it who sent the furious violent wind upon the people of `Aad, so that they were seen lying overthrown and destroyed, as if they were hollow trunks of palm-trees? Who is it who sent the awful cry upon the people of Thamud until it cut their hearts inside their bodies, and they all fell dead without exception? Who lifted the villages of the people of Loot till the angels heard barking of their dogs, then turned them upside down, and then rained upon them a rain of stones?
That is the immediate punishment for wrongdoing: drowning, fire, earthquakes, destruction, famine, raging wind... "And the torment of the hereafter is far more severe and more lasting." (20:127)
Do we not take admonition and lesson? Allah says, "Did We not destroy the ancients? So shall We make the later generations to follow them. Thus do We deal with the Mujrimoon (criminals, disbelievers, sinners.). Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)!" [77:16-19]
The earthquake is just a warning from Allah -- not only to the people of that country alone in which it happen, but rather to the Muslims in general, in all lands -- that they may return to their Lord and their religion. Otherwise, a punishment will come upon them. Allah says, "So We seized each of them for his sins." (29:40)
Many of the Muslims today have gathered many sins. We see those who delay and neglect prayers, eat Haram, deal with Riba, do not fulfill their trusts, order the evil and forbid the good. Those who indulge in mixing, display of their parts of body compulsory to cover, listening to music and songs, and those who have abandoned the Holy Qur'aan. All these exist in our society.
Let us fear Allah and preserve what we have from the blessings, for wrongdoing removes blessings, rather it changes it to a curse. And let us be warned of an evil end, for Allah gives us a chance but is not neglectful.
What has happened to the previous nations and some of the current ones will happen to us if we obey the Satan and go far from the path of Allah. These are the Sunan of Allah that will never change.
"Or do you feel secure that He, Who is over the Heaven, will not cause the earth to sink with you, then behold it shakes (as in an earthquake)? Or do you feel secure that He, Who is over the heaven, will not send against you a violent whirlwind? Then you shall know how (terrible) was My Warning." (67:16-17)
Let us pause and ask ourselves what has been the tangible impact on us since we have heard and seen the earthquake, and what it has left from the mighty and scary destruction that makes the hearts bleed.
The happy one is the one who learns from the calamity of others, and the sad one is by whom these calamities pass while he takes no lesson from them.
The sun eclipses, followed by the floods, then the strong wind, and then the earthquake happens. The people are still as they were before, you see no change. You do not see people going back to the path of Allah and you do not see any crowds in mosques.
It is unfortunate that the explanation offered for these events is that they are normal natural disasters, and that they do not link it to what happens to people due to their wrongdoing. Theirs is clearly an incorrect interpretation.
"And We sent not the signs except to warn, and to make them afraid (of destruction)." (17:59)

Ge moet goed begrijpen dat elke 'normale dag' een barmhartige dag is van je Schepper en dat het geduld van de Schepper met de mens bewonderenswaardig GROOT is...
Ik zou er niet aan moeten denken dat MARC61 met zijn geduld zou mogen bepalen wie wel of niet gestraft mag worden...
Dat de Schepper de aarde laat draaien voor de mensheid met zijn gehele eco-systeem en dat maar liefst 85% daarvan zijn Schepper negeert of ontkent om maar niet te spreken over de wandaden die indruisen tegen elke normaal verstand... (Novum/AP) - In Pakistan is zondag, acht dagen na de aardbeving, een baby gered uit het puin. Het meisje, dat polio heeft, werd uit het puin gehaald in het dorp Sanger, bij Balakot. "Ze maakt het uitstekend", zei woordvoerder Shaukat Sultan. Hoe oud het kind precies is kon hij niet zeggen.
Twee broertjes, 7 en 9 jaar oud, hadden soldaten meegetroond naar het huis waar het meisje in bekneld zat. Ze waren zaterdag in een legerkamp aangekomen om hulp te vragen. "Zij zijn de ware helden", zei Sultan.

For many generations , Prophet Nuh’s (Noah) people had been worshipping statues that they called gods. They believed that these gods would bring them good, protect them from evil and provide all their needs. They gave their idols names such as Waddan, Suwa’an, Yagutha, Ya’auga and Nasran, according to the power they thought these gods possessed, originally these were the names of good people who had lived among them. After their death, statues of them were erected to keep their memories alive. After sometime, people began to worship these statues.
Into this environment, Allah sent Noah with His message to his people. Noah was the only intellectual not caught in the whirlpool of man’s destruction which was caused by polytheism. Allah in His mercy sent His messenger Noah to guide his people. Noah was an excellent speaker and a very patient man. He pointed out to his people the mysteries of life and the wonders of the universe. He clarified to them how the devil had deceived them for so long and that the time had come for this deceit to stop Noah warned them not to worship anyone but Allah, and described the terrible punishment Allah would mete out if they continued in their evil ways. Noah’s people were divided into two groups after his warning . His words touched the hearts of the weak, the poor and soothed their wounds with its mercy. As for the rich, the strong, the mighty and the rulers, they looked upon the warning with cold distrust. They believed they would be better off if things stayed as they were. So they started their war of words against Noah.
Noah saw that the number of believers was not increasing, while that of the disbelievers was. He was sad for his people, but he never reached the point of despair. Then came a day when Allah inspired Noah not to grieve for his people at which point Noah prayed that the disbelievers be destroyed. Allah accepted Noah’s prayer and passed His judgement on the disbelievers in the form of a flood. Allah, the exalted ordered His worshipper Noah to build an ark with His knowledge and instructions and with the help of angels. Almighty Allah commanded: “And construct the ship under Our eyes and with our inspiration and address Me not on behalf of those who did wrong, they are surely to be drowned.”
Noah chose a place outside the city far from the sea. He collected wood and tools and began to work day and night to build the ark. The people’s mockery continued . “O, Noah! Does carpentry appeal to you more then Prophethood? Why are you building an ark so far from the sea? Are you going to drag it to the water or is the wind going to carry it for you?” Noah replied: “You will come to know who will be put to shame and suffer”. The ship was constructed and Noah sat waiting for Allah’s command. Allah revealed to him that when water miraculously gushed forth from the oven at Noah’s house, that would be the sign of the start of the flood, the sign for Noah to act. The terrible day arrived when the oven at Noah’s house overflowed. Noah hurried to open the ark and summon the believers. He also took with him a pair, male and female of every type of animal, bird and insect. Seeing him taking these creatures to the ark, the people laughed loudly : “Noah must have gone out of his head ! What is he going to do with the animals?” Noah’s wife was not a believer with him, so she did not join him, neither did one of Noah’s sons. Scholars hold different opinions on the number of those who were with Noah on the ship. Ibn Abbas stated that there were 80 believers, while Ka’ab Al Albar held that there were 72. Water rose from the cracks in the earth, there was not a crack from which water did not rise. Rain poured from the sky in quantities never seen before on the earth. The seas and waves invaded the land. The earth for the first time was submerged.
Allah told the story thus: And he (Noah) said: “Embark therein, in the Name of Allah will be its moving course and its resting anchorage. Surely my Lord is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful.” So it (the ship) sailed with them amidst the waves like mountains and Noah called out to his son who had separated himself (apart), “O my son! Embark with us and be not with the disbelievers.” His son replied: “I will betake myself to a mountain, it will save me from the water.” And it was said: “O earth! Swallow up your water, and O, Sky withhold your rain” And the water was diminished (made to subside) and the decree of Allah was fulfilled (i.e., the destruction of the people of Noah). And it (the ship) rested on Mount Judi and it was said: “Away with the people who are zalimeen (polytheists and wrong doers). It was said: “O Noah, come down from the ship with peace from us and blessings on you and on the people who are with you (and on some of their offspring), but there will be other people to whom we shall grant their pleasures (for a time), but in the end a painful torment will reach them from us.”
