Tariq Ramadan sees no conflict between being a Muslim and being a full citizen in Western countries. Tariq will advocate that the Muslims in Europe need to separate Islamic principles from their cultures of origin and anchor them in the cultural reality of Western Europe.
Tariq Ramadan was named as one of the 21st Century's great innovators by Time Magazine last year.
Being born and raised in Switzerland, Ramadan studied philosophy and French literature in Europe, and Arabic and Islam in Egypt. Recent publications are: Western Muslims and the Future of Islam and Islam, the West and the Challenges of Modernity.
