We Belong to Allah and We Shall Return to Him
The felonious and bloody hand of malevolent criminals created a large tragedy today and committed another sin in aggressing religious sanctities. The reverent mausoleum of Hazrat Imam Hadi and Imam Asgari, peace be upon them, became subject to sacrilege and destruction leaving thereby an unbearable grief in the hearts of Shiites and the overall Muslims who feel love for (Islam's prophet) household, peace be upon them. The criminal act, whose perpetrators are possibly chosen from among hardline bigots or ill-fated and negligent mercenaries, has been planned by conspirators who have evil and malicious intentions.
This is a political crime and one must find its root in the intelligent bodies of Iraq's occupiers and the Zionists. Dominance-seeking powers, who find Iraqi political and social situation contrary to their hegemonic aims, are plotting in mind malicious ploys, including among others, to fan insecurity and sow religious discords.
Today's criminal act in Sammara added another page to the black record of Iraq's occupiers. The holy shrine of the Askariyin (the two Imams), peace be upon them, will once again get back into full swing by the zealous work of the lovers of the household, peace be upon them, God willing. Nevertheless, the criminal act left a dark blot on the forehead of Islam's enemies which may no be removed even for a long time.
I express my condolences for the tragic event to the reverent Prophet of Islam, may Allah pray for him and his family, and to the lofty status of the Baghiyat-Allah (the last Imam), may our souls be sacrificed to him, as well as all Shiite population worldwide and all zealous and aware Muslims who feel love for the pure household of God's prophet, peace be upon him and them. I proclaim a week of public mourning in the country.
I consider it as necessary to plea for the mourners in Iran, Iraq and other parts of the world to seriously refrain from any action which leads in confrontation and enmity among Muslim brethren. Definitely, there are hands behind which push Shiites to profane mosques and sacred places of Sunni people. Any move in this regard will promote the intentions of enemies of Islam and Muslim nations and is prohibited by the statute.

De criminele en bloedige hand van kwaadwillige misdadigers leidde vandaag tot een grote tragedie en beging een andere zonde in het aggressing van godsdienstige heiligheid. Eerbiedige mausoleum van Hazrat Imam Hadi en Imam Asgari, de vrede is op hen, werd onderworpen aan sacrilege en vernietiging verlatend daardoor een unbearable zorg in de harten van Shiites en de algemene Moslims die liefde voor (Islam's prophet) huishouden voelen, de vrede is op hen. De misdadige handeling, wiens daders misschien van onder hardlinebigots of ill-fated en onachtzame mercenaries worden gekozen, is gepland door conspirators die kwade en kwaadwillige bedoelingen hebben.
Dit is een politieke misdaad en men moet zijn wortel in de intelligente organismen van de bewoners van Irak en Zionists vinden. Overheersing-zoekende bevoegdheden, wie Iraakse politieke en sociale situatie met hun hegemonic doelstellingen strijdig vinden, brengen in mening kwaadwillige listen in kaart, omvattend onder anderen, aan van de ventilatoronzekerheid en zeug godsdienstige onenigheden.
De misdadige handeling van vandaag in Sammara voegde een andere pagina aan het zwarte verslag van de bewoners van Irak toe. Het heilige heiligdom van Askariyin (twee Imams), de vrede is op hen, nogmaals terug in volledige schommeling door het ijverige werk van de minnaars van het huishouden zal worden, de vrede is op hen, Gewillige god. Niettemin, de misdadige handeling verliet een donkere vlek op het voorhoofd van Islam's vijanden dat geen zelfs voor een lange tijd kan worden verwijderd.

Ik overweeg het noodzakelijk voor pleidooi voor mourners in Iran, Irak en andere delen van de wereld zich ernstig om van om het even welke actie te onthouden die in confrontatie en vijandschap onder Moslimbrethren leidt. Absoluut, er zijn handen waarachter duw Shiites aan profane moskees en heilige plaatsen van Sunni mensen. Om het even welke beweging zal in dit verband de bedoelingen van vijanden van Islam en Moslimnaties bevorderen en door het statuut belemmerd.

Ik vind het ook een grove misdaad en begrijp niet hoe mensen het in hun hoofd kunnen halen heiligdommen op te blazen ... bij welke religie of levensovertuiging deze ook horen. Dat vond ik bij het opblazen van de Boedhha beelden in Afghanistan door de Taliban en dat vind ik nu weer. Daar moeten ze met hun klauwen afblijven!

Ik heb ook vernomen dat Muqtada el-Sadr heeft gereageerd, ben benieuwd wat zijn reactie hierop precies inhield.

Feit is wel dat iedereen daar zijn belangen probeert te behartigen al dan niet met behulp van politiek populistische daden.
Weet je wat ik erg vind, dat er een paar rotzakken zijn die een moskee opblazen en daar ontzettend veel mensen pijn mee doe. En dat er dan ook weer een paar rotzakken zijn die hun wraak halen bij mensen die daar niets mee te maken hebben. En zo gaat het maar door. Wraak en weer wraak en vaak zijn de onschuldigen de slachtoffers. Het is zoooo onzinnig allemaal.
Dat de bezetters erachter zitten, dat we van elkaar moeten houden en niet elkaar moeten aanvallen. Verder heeft hij soldaten geplaatst bij veel sunni moskeeen om ze te beschermen.

The Religious Authority Sayyed M.H. Fadlullah Communique regarding the Aggression against the Shrine of Imams Al-Hadi and Al-Askari(a.s.)
Once again the criminals and barbarians have committed an aggression against Islamic Holy shrines through their targeting of the shrine of Imams Ali Al-Hadi and Al-Hasan Askari, (a.s.) with their sublime position in the Muslims' general conscience, as well being symbols of Islam that represent an extension of the Prophet's march as well as the sense of giving and viability of Islam.
Those criminal hands are similar in their brutality and their barbarism to those who have insulted the Messenger (p), because they both have the same objective: to insult all Islamic sacred symbols as a prelude to attack Islam itself with all its concepts, principles and rulings.
We feel that this crime is very dangerous not only because it targeted the Holy shrine of the two Imams (a.s.), but also because it has targeted Islam itself along with the Islamic history with its great symbols. Furthermore it seeks to incite strife among Muslims in Iraq, which would then spread to other places in the region especially that all the massacres they had committed, and that were encouraged by the American occupation, have failed to drag the Muslims and especially the Shiites to this fire that is supposed to burn the entire region.
I appeal to my children in the injured Iraq and to the entire Iraqi people with all its various sects and races, to be aware that this crime has occurred at a time the American occupation in trying to use a language that would incite strife and create a crisis in the Sunni – Shiite relations. It is trying to cover its failure by encouraging all acts of crime and subversion that might incite strife.
We have confidence in the awareness of the people in Iraq and in their ability to discover the criminals and those who support them either directly or indirectly. Thus, we call on them all to stand unified in objecting these criminal acts and in curbing those who are inciting strife. They should devise a practical mechanism that would prevent the criminals from committing their acts of terrorism. We also call on the parties that have condemned this crime to meet on a unified political and Islamic line that seeks to eradicate crime and evil in Iraq in particular and in the Islamic world in general, since such a meeting will contribute in protecting the nation both internally and externally.
Our people in Iraq should support the Islamic religious authority in it efforts to protect Iraq and to curb any negative reactions, since the issue is not an issue of Sunnis and Shiites, but that of the apostates who are sponsored by the occupation in one way or another. It is also the issue of what has remained of the tyrannical regime. But above all it the issue of the occupation that is trying to stay in Iraq, by means of benefiting from such crimes that it encourages either directly or indirectly.

Statement of Condemnation
And do not think Allah to be heedless of what the unjust do..
1. We condemn in the strongest possible term the disloyal attack on the holy shrine of Imam Al-Hadi and Imam Al-Askari (may Allah bless them). It is an attack on the feelings of Muslims in general and the followers of Ahlul-Bayt (A.S.) in particular, especially since both Imams (A.S.) we not only leaders among their Shia followers, but exemplary personalities for humanity as a whole.
2. For this reason we call upon the Islamic world in particular and Islamic and international organizations together with Muslim Scholars and others to condemn this heinous crime, which constitutes a dangerous turning point in the series of attacks on Islamic sanctities and places of worship. If the Islamic world remains silent about this latest crime without punishing the criminals and transgressors, then one cannot guarantee the safety of any Islamic site in future. The Islamic world, with its scholars, intellectuals, professionals and devout Muslims and non-Muslims must stand hand in hand in condemning the evil attack.
3. We hold, the unjust faction (Takfiries) who have strayed from the noble path of Islam, Saddam’s mercenaries and coalition forces responsible for the appalling deterioration in the security situation. We ask international bodies to use the means at their disposal to bring pressure to bear on coalition forces to protect the lives of Muslims and their sanctities, which according to Shari’a law and international law the responsibility is entirely theirs. We also hold the Iraqi government responsible for the protection of holy shrines and revered places. Should the government not fulfill its responsibilities in this regard then the Iraqi people will be forced to ensure their own safety and that of their holy shrines. We urge the UN and UNESCO and international church councils to condemn this terrible crime and seriously work towards stopping the extremism as directed by some people against the holy Prophet (may Allah bless him and his family) and by others against his pure family – both of whom serve one shared objective.
4. We also call upon organizations, mosques, and Islamic centers in the UK to stand together in the face of this crime that has touched the hearts of all Muslims. This can be done through organized, peaceful and civilized protests and by showing total respect for the law in accordance with the guidance issued today by the supreme Marja’iyyah in Najaf.
We are fully aware that the malicious hands of the unjust faction (Takfiries) who have strayed form the noble path of Islam are intent on harming the unity of the Iraqi people and create discord among Muslims. However, our people in Iraq are fully alert to the fact that the enemy wants to draw them into this abhorrent quagmire – and Allah Almighty willing - the Iraqi people will not fall for it.
We ask Allah, the Omnipotent to protect this oppressed nation and the followers of Ahlul- Bayt (may Allah bless them) and peace loving Muslims from all harm.
