As an ordinary Iraqi our guest has witnessed a tumultuous three years in Baghdad -- caught up in invasion, occupation, bombings, kidnappings and daily uncertainty.

He found himself writing an online diary under the name of Salam Pax which has given a unique perspective of what it has been like to live through all this.

Now, as Iraq faces the fear of civil war, he tells Carrie Gracie on The Interview how religion is playing an ever greater role in everyday life in Iraq -- how it influences everything from the name you use to the place you live.

Yet despite the daily chaos and fear, Salam Pax explains why he dearly wants to carry on living in Baghdad.

Interessant, om niet te zeggen onthullend interview over de toestand in Irak met de beroemde blogger.

Uit de mond van een "gewone" Irakees is dit benevens verhelderend ook erg triest.
