Sell me a nuclear bomb

A SUSPECTED British terrorist was involved in a plot to buy a NUCLEAR BOMB from the Russian mafia, the Old Bailey was told yesterday.
Salahuddin Amin — one of an alleged UK terror cell said to have links to al-Qaeda — had information about the device passed to him in Pakistan, jurors were told.
Prosecutor David Waters said the plan was to buy a so-called “radioisotope” device.
He said 31-year-old Amin, of Luton, was contacted in Pakistan by a man named Abu Munthir, who had alleged al-Qaeda links.
The prosecutor said: “Munthir asked Amin to contact a man named Abu Annis on Munthir’s behalf.
Amin did so via the internet and Annis said they’d made contact with the Russian mafia in Belgium and from the mafia they were trying to buy this bomb.
“Amin told police he didn’t believe this could be genuine. Indeed, nothing appears to have come of this. However it gives an indication as to Amin’s position in — and his usefulness to — the organisation.”
Amin and six other British citizens deny plotting UK explosions.
