"We informed Turkey about American contacts with the terrorist organization in Northern Iraq," said the secretary of Iran Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, at an Iranian Embassy reception last evening in Ankara.

"We forwarded detailed information about the US meetings with the PKK in Musul (Mosul) and Kerkuk (Kirkuk) to Turkish officials; these meeting took place at the American Military officials' and commanders' level. According to the information we have, the meeting was last held a month ago," said Larijani.

While assessing that as a party complaining about terror the US contacts with the PKK posed "a huge question" for them, the Iranian top security official added. “Countries in the region have the necessary power to restore security, as long as the US does not impede them".

Turkish National Security Council former Secretary-General Gen. Tuncer Kilinc also attended the reception.

Kilinc had previously said, "Turkey should establish cooperation with not only the European Union (EU), but also with countries like Iran and Russia." :hihi:
