NEW YORK (RKnieuws.net) - Wereldleiders doen er verstandig aan 22 augustus in de gaten te houden. Op die dag zou Iran zich wel eens openlijk kunnen gaan mengen in de strijd van Hezbollah tegen Israël, zo waarschuwt de gerenommeerde Amerikaanse islamexpert Bernard Lewis in een opiniërend artikel in The Wall Street Journal.
Binnen de islam bestaan evenals in jodendom en christendom bepaalde opvattingen over het einde van de tijden, aldus Lewis. Sjiitische moslims verwachten de terugkeer van de ”verborgen imam”, de Mahdi, „eindigend in de finale overwinning van de krachten van goed over kwaad, hoe die ook mogen worden gedefinieerd.”
De Iraanse president Ahmadinejad en zijn volgelingen zijn er volgens hem stellig van overtuigd dat deze „eindstrijd” inmiddels is begonnen. Er zou zelfs een datum bij kunnen horen: meermalen heeft de president dinsdag 22 augustus genoemd als datum waarop hij richting de VS zal reageren over het nucleaire programma van zijn land. Lewis: „In eerste instantie werd dit gerapporteerd als „eind augustus”, maar Ahmadinejads verklaring was preciezer.”
Waarom 22 augustus? Dit jaar, aldus Lewis, komt 22 augustus op de islamitische kalender overeen met de 27e dag van de maand rajab van het jaar 1427. In de islamitische traditie is dit de nacht waarin tal van moslims de nachtelijke vlucht van de profeet Mohammed op zijn gevleugelde paard Buraq herdenken. Eerst zou hij naar „de verste moskee” zijn gevlogen (Koran, soera 17 vers 1; Nederlandse editie: het uiterste bedehuis), waarmee de tempel in Jeruzalem zou zijn bedoeld, vervolgens naar de hemel en weer terug.
Om die reden kon 22 augustus wel eens beschouwd worden als een geschikte datum voor het apocalyptische einde van Israël en zo nodig van de wereld, schrijft de Amerikaanse islamexpert. „Het is verre van zeker dat Ahmadinejad zulke catastrofale plannen voor 22 augustus heeft. Maar het zou verstandig zijn de mogelijkheid ervan in het achterhoofd te houden.”
Enkele dagen voordat Lewis zijn bijdrage schreef, publiceerde de vooraanstaande Irankenner Robert Spencer, directeur van Jihad-Watch, een artikel waarin ook hij wees op 22 augustus als mogelijke datum „waarop iets te gebeuren staat.” Volgens Spencer is de ”Miraj”, de nachtelijke vlucht van Mohammed naar Jeruzalem, voor moslims een heel bijzondere gebeurtenis. Zij geloven dat toen Mohammed vanaf het Tempelplein in Jeruzalem zou zijn opgevaren naar de hemel, de lucht boven Jeruzalem in fel licht baadde.
De Irankenner merkt dan op dat de Syrische politicus Farid Ghandry onlangs heeft gezegd dat Iran „de wereld heeft beloofd dat op 22 augustus het licht van de islam zal schijnen over de al-Aqsamoskee en over de hele stad Jeruzalem.”
In een persbericht vestigde de Nederlandse stichting Israël en de Bijbel woensdag de aandacht op Lewis’ artikel, dat op 8 augustus verscheen, en op dat van Spencer. De stichting roept op tot gebed voor de situatie in het Midden-Oosten. „Steeds meer worden wij gedrongen door het besef dat „de grote benauwdheid voor Jacob” (de grote verdrukking voor Israël) waar de Bijbel over schrijft, steeds dichterbij komt. Het gaat komen en wij weten dat allen de Heere redding biedt, maar veel Joodse mensen weten dat nog niet”, aldus stichting Israël en de Bijbel.

Zo'n vaart zal het niet lopen hoor,
Die beschrijving in de Koran van 'bergen als gekaarde wol' en zo lijkt meer op het moment waarop de aarde wordt opgeslokt door de zon (hele soerah lezen graag) dan op een oorlogje met Israel en zelfs dat moment lijkt me al erg vroeg.
Waarom zou je een heel heelal scheppen + nog zeven lagen van hemels (extra dimensies ?) als dit zonnestelseltje het enige is wat belangrijk is.
Of is dat misschien weer een vorm van antroposofie ?
Misschien bedoelt ie het meer praktisch zodat het einde van Iran gepland is (zou moeten zijn) op 21 augustus ?

The Time of Troubles begins with a period of geological shifts. Frequent earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and disrupted weather systems become the norm. This will cause widespread famines and droughts, and social upheavals in unexpected places. Nations that are considered prosperous and powerful, particularly western nations, will be weakened. They will be torn with civil strife and rioting as people migrate to areas that have water and can support crop-growing. The social upheaval and weakening of political structures will help the Antichrist come to power.
The United States in particular will be subject to serious natural disasters, particularly earthquakes and flooding, and flatten the nation from end to end, causing enormous conflict, despair, and misery. The US will be bankrupted attempting to deal with its disasters. Three other great nations will send aid to help the citizens survive.

Earth changes will take place that will help the Antichrist's drive for world conquest. In central Europe, southern Europe, and in the Middle East, around the eastern end of the Mediterranean, there will be severe floods. As a result of the disruption to local governments by the natural disasters, the Antichrist will move his troops in under the guise of helping the people restore civil order, but really use this as a device to take over countries, and to use the populations like slaves.
Serious economic problems will persist along with great social unrest, contributing to the ease with which the Antichrist can seize power. The frightened and hopeful populace will be vulnerable to his demagoguery. The Antichrist will use the disasters as opportunities to overthrow governments and sneak spies into a country. Martial law will be declared in many areas to stop rioting and looting. The Middle East, the source of his power, will not be as devastated as the rest of the world. He offers assistance to other countries trying to recover but he will eventually stab them in the back.
Crazed leader launches nuclear bombs on Mediterranean and Europe
(Century II, Quatrains 3 and 4)
During a period of continuing unrest, the leader of a Middle Eastern country will be able to obtain a nuclear weapon. He will go to the greatest lengths over the smallest things and will not hesitate to use the weapon because of his obsessions with deadly warfare. The people he is warring against retaliate with a nuclear weapon. The country has a coast on the Mediterranean.
One of the bombs will land in the Mediterranean instead of the land, poisoning all the fish. The passages of trade in the region will be disrupted so that the people on the other coast will be desperate for food and will eat the fish anyway. It will happen near the east coast of the Mediterranean in a region of dark-colored cliffs.
The nuclear weapon being dropped by one of the Middle Eastern countries will spark off yet another war on top of that war. European and Western nations will try to interfere to diminish the threat to oil supplies. When the European countries try to interfere, the crazed leader will use the rest of his arsenal on Europe, most striking the closer southern part.
The European Mediterranean coast, particularly that of Italy and France, will be almost uninhabitable, and Italy will get the brunt. This leader is not the Antichrist but helps to set the stage for the Antichrist to rise to power with little or no opposition. The Antichrist will wield great power and authority; no one can argue with him.
Fiasco from communication breakdown between two superpowers
(Century II, Quatrains 35 and 48)
Through a mistake by a leader, a breakdown in communications between two powerful countries will occur. The situation is a lot more complex than will appear on the surface. The leader involved will feel great regret about what happened and will want to continue his career and help correct the situation, to help make up for the adverse affects.
But he will be hung, symbolically, by others wishing to take his position in the organization. He will be hung so far as politics and his career are concerned. It will almost be like committing suicide because in the end he will be a broken man. The entire event will be viewed as a fiasco from both sides. It will have very harmful and even cataclysmic consequences.
The situation develops when an enemy of the United States takes advantage of the incident in an unethical way, by sending a horde of agents working for their side into this area. The world will be outraged by the action.
A breakdown in communications between the US and Russia will result in a misunderstanding and deep resentments. Some will risk their careers to try to tame the situation but will be silenced, and "burned" such as by demotions to obscure positions.
Third world country leader creates strife
(Century III, Quatrain 60)
A "young dark man" will arise as a leader in a Third World country; his main goal is to unite the other Third World countries to do battle with the superpowers. The area of conflict will be in Eastern Europe and the Middle East, particularly around the Adriatic and the Caspian seas and the eastern Mediterranean. No definite winner will emerge but the strife will help set the stage for the Antichrist. Some prophecies in the Bible refer to events in this region ( Israel will be involved).
Antichrist profits from radar research in Europe
(Century I, Quatrain 6)
Research on a more sophisticated type of radar and sensing devices will give greater information to the operator, i.e. an airplane pilot. But the first experiments with the technology will fail in a disastrous accident, when the vibrations emitted by the device cause the chassis of the plane to become weakened and dangerous due to dissolved bonds of the molecules in the metal. The scientists involved with the research will have to temporarily abandon the research because of diplomatic breakdowns, the threat of war, etc.
This will take place before the Antichrist comes to full power. It will happen in Europe at the time the Antichrist is strengthening his base of power in the Middle East. The devices are currently under development but have not been tested yet. But this is another historical event that will permit the Antichrist to take over Europe.
War game simulation by Britain in Europe leads to disaster

In a war-game maneuver involving Great Britain and European troops a malfunctioning computer will cause the "real-world" situation to play out instead of the simulation. The teams are labeled "white" and "blue". As a result of the error actual defenses will be activated and real bombs will be dropped on the areas of the game and cause a tragic international incident.
American Electoral College voting stalemate
(Century VII, Quatrain 41)
The presidents of the United States, a supposedly free country, have been abusing their power to an increasingly greater extent. During a time of social unrest even more so than the period of Vietnam and Watergate, the Electoral College will be evenly split over the election of the new president. The process will stalemate, with many people clamoring for whichever candidate they voted for, causing enormous tension in the country.
Antichrist's rise to power in Middle East
(Century II, Quatrains 23 and 81)
The Antichrist will take over Iran by using a human decoy to trick the Ayatollah in power. This will involve the "yes men" and sycophants of the Ayatollah's court. The Antichrist will first drive away internal supporters of the Ayatollah by starting a civil war. Then he will put forth a man as a leader, a man for Iranians loyal to the Ayatollah to concentrate their hate on. The man will be assassinated while Iran is being taken over, and his opponents will think they have foiled the overthrow of power by assassinating him. But they will find out later he was merely a decoy and that they played into the plans of the Antichrist.
The Antichrist will initially obtain power in his own sphere, Asia, and the Middle East. As he grows out of this arena, and into Europe, the next step will be into the Mediterranean, his area of strength. Because of his Middle Eastern heritage he will have already united North Africans, who are sympathetic to his cultural background, with his Asian and Middle Eastern conglomerate.

August 22 - Iran’s Military Exercise and Apocalyptic Plans for Israel and World

Washington is keeping a sharp weather eye out for Tuesday, August 22, which this year corresponds in the Islamic calendar to the date on which many Sunni Muslims commemorate the night flight of the prophet Muhammad on his winged horse Buraq to “the farthest mosque”, which is traditionally identified with Jerusalem.
According to the Muslim legend, on that day, a divine white light spread over Jerusalem and the whole world.
DEBKAfile’s intelligence sources report that information rated “highly credible” has reached US undercover agencies of a secret report presented to Iran’s supreme ruler Ali Khamenei by Abdollah Shabhazi, one of the heads of the Supreme National Security Council. He claims to expose a mega-terror plot against Jerusalem scheduled for August 22, which aims at killing large numbers of Jews, Arabs and Christians.
This atrocity will reportedly arm the United States and Israel with the pretext for hitting Iran’s nuclear installations, as well its capital, Tehran, and other big cities.
Shabhazi says the US and Israel need to launch a military campaign to restore the deterrent strength they lost in the Lebanon war.
The massive attack will reportedly focus on the Old City of Jerusalem and its eastern suburbs. The Iranian report claims that the plotters, who are not identified, are eager to recreate the divine white light whish spread over Jerusalem in the year 632. It does not rule out the use of a non-conventional weapon.
DEBKAfile reports that the authorities in Israel do not appear to be taking this threat seriously, unlike Washington – and Tehran.
Deeply impressed, Iran’s rulers launched a large-scale are, sea and ground exercise Saturday, Aug. 19. The maneuver, dubbed the Blow of Zolfaghar (the sword used by Imam Ali), involves 12 divisions, army Chinook helicopters, unmanned planes, parachutists, electronic war units and special forces. State-run television reported a new anti-aircraft system was tested “to make Iranian air space unsafe for our enemies.”
The massive military exercise will spread over 14 of Iran’s 30 provinces and last about five weeks.
DEBKAfile adds: The point of this massive display of might is in fact to place Iran’s armed forces on the ready for the contingency of a US-Israeli offensive on August 22 as per Shabhazi’s prediction. The exercise will be moved to Tehran to prepare the capital for a potential assault.
August 22, furthermore, is also the day of Iran’s formal reply to the incentives packages on offer from the West in return for halting its uranium enrichment projects.
For weeks, Tehran was under pressure from the United States and Europe for an earlier reply, but insisted on August 22.
Prof. Bernard Lewis, the great scholar of Islam and the Middle East offers the background in the Wall Street Journal on Aug. 8:
“In Islam, as in Judaism and Christianity, there are certain beliefs concerning the cosmic struggle at the end of time - Gog and Magog, anti-Christ, Armageddon, and for Shiite Muslims, the long awaited return of the Hidden Imam… Mr. Ahmadinejad and his followers clearly believe that this time is now, and that the terminal struggle has already begun and is indeed well advanced. It may even have a date, indicated by several references by the Iranian president to giving his final answer to the U.S. about nuclear development by Aug. 22. This was at first reported as "by the end of August," but Mr. Ahmadinejad's statement was more precise.”
Revolutionary Iran habitually links fundamentalist symbolism to political events.
Prof. Lewis explains the significance of Aug. 22 and adds ominously:
“This might well be deemed an appropriate date for the apocalyptic ending of Israel and if necessary of the world. It is far from certain that Mr. Ahmadinejad plans any such cataclysmic events precisely for Aug. 22. But it would be wise to bear the possibility in mind.”
The Shiites do not recognize Rajab 27 as the date of Muhammad’s purported flight to Jerusalem but celebrate Mabath to commemorate the day they believe Allah appeared before Mohammed in a cave and told him he had been chosen as the prophet to spread the divine message across the world. Mabath is marked by Shiites in Iran and other parts of the Middle East with great ceremony.
Claiming to represent the true Islam, the Shiite rulers of Tehran are expected by Washington to mark the date by demonstrating their military superiority for all Muslims to see.
In addition to Bernard Lewis’s hypothesis, speculation is rife in Washington about what Iran has in store for next Tuesday. Tehran may announce success in producing enriched uranium of a higher grade, meaning it is no more than six months away from a weapons-grade capability. While providing justification for UN Security Council sanctions, Tehran prefers to believe that this announcement will be its passport for admission to the world’s nuclear club and its attendant privileges, including the right to enrich uranium independently.
In the meantime, the Iranians are putting on a spectacular show of military bravado to show the world and reassure their own people that they are not afraid of threats.
