Mogadishu: the Temple of our civilization and freedom is emerging

Today, Mogadishu is reborn after fifteen years of constant gunfire. Our children go to sleep without mothers worrying about the menacing and machete wielding gangs of the warlords. Children are not asking their moms what that “big bang” was about or why they passed a bleeding and dying person at street corner. Fathers are going to the market and coming back with their limbs intact. Young girls are coming back without being raped. For the last two months there are only two violent deaths reported.

The Mogadishu International Airport was reopened for commercial airlines to land. Somalis from the Diaspora are stampeding to get back to Mogadishu. Thirteen Mogadishu municipalities have police stations, the garbage has been collected from the streets and neighborhoods, the police forces are being called to secure the peace. Hospitals and schools are reopening, teachers are going back to teach.

Young girls that were kept at home for fear of being raped are being sent back to school. The illegal logging of forest and habitat are being stopped by an order from the Islamic courts. The minority communities brutalized by warlords are being recognized as equals with the major clans that dominated the Somali politics since its founding. A national reconciliation conference has been announced that would be led by Somalis for the first time in fifteen years. Roads closed for fifteen years are reopened; road blocks are being removed from all southern and central Somalia.

One must ask who is doing all these. And why this was not done for the last fifteen years? The simple answer to this is: True Somalis are doing it now and the last fifteen years has been the years when the warlords (the Ethiopian dictatorship) client stooges ruled our land and they have been recently defeated and things are happening because of that. Why Ethiopia’s dictator is sounding the alarm these days around the world? The Ethiopian dictator knows there is a very good chance Somalia will be a free nation that the people of Somalia will decide their course of history and destiny unlike his dictatorship and that is a real threat to his satanic and tyrannical rule over the proud people of Ethiopia. He makes excuses and false allegations that Muslim Somalis are threat to his Christian Ethiopia. This is all lies as we all know Ethiopia is neither Christian nor a Muslim nation.

It has always been a multi cultural, multi-ethnic and multi religious community. We never had a religious war with Ethiopia we have had a border and land dispute with Ethiopia that has led to several wars; but Somalia has never went to war with Ethiopia because they are Christian and we are Muslim. In fact this is Western made idea that is foreign not to Ethiopia and Somalia but is foreign to all of Africa until the white man arrived in our shores and told us one is better than the other. Lot of Ethiopians and in fact Americans ask what is wrong with the Somalis why they don’t support their current government? For those well meaning people, here is a short history for this exact issue why Somalis don’t trust this regime:

Meles Zenawi airlifted the puppet prime minister Ali Mohamed Gedi to Nairobi, Kenya and imposed on us this unknown corrupt and ineffective creature. This shows the TPFL led butcher’s total lack of any understanding of the Somali people and their traditions. Somalis are proud people like their neighbors and Meles should have given a little reflection about the history of Somalia, before he dispatches his little minion stooge.

The people of Mogadishu the capital of modern day Somalia was engaged in commerce with Egyptians, Babylonians and Indian civilizations as early as 3000 BC. Somalia was also engaged commerce and trade with China as early as 200BC and as recent as 1402. In fact, the Chinese emperor Yeng Le sent his envoy Zhen He to Mogadishu Kingdom so that the King of Mogadishu sends ambassador to the middle kingdom what is today’s China. Somalis still make the clothing of the emperors “the Alindi” in Baraawe and coastal towns to this day. Therefore, we are civilized people, we have history and it does not befit us to be imposed on us an agent of the Ethiopian dictator.

We refused to surrender our equality with other nations. We refused the violation and incursions of our sacred and sovereign land. We chose to defend, protect our inalienable right to be free nation and unmolested sovereign state among equals.

As customary to foreign spies and emissaries the puppet prime minister; Ali Mohamed Gedi has failed many times over to uphold the principles which our nation was founded, and the principles our forefathers have perished defending it. He failed to discharge of the duties which he was entrusted to perform. He has failed the solemn obligation and the oath of office he has taken to protect and defend the Somali republic. His abject failure to reconcile, negotiate, restore order and to rein the warlords and make any head ways in any direction of any consequence shows he is there to keep the status quo of holding the nation under the brutal warlords and Ethiopian brutal murderer’s servitude while he and his buddies are busy looting the funds the international community donated to rebuild nation.

The government that he manages is really one without parallel in the history of corrupt and inept governments of the world. For example, he is the prime minister for over three years now and his government does not even have a website let alone an agenda for reconciliation, infrastructure building or economy. There is no single ministry in his over 100 ministries that is working. He went only once in his tenure to Mogadishu. He has failed to negotiate members of his own cabinet and tribesmen who was holding Mogadishu and other parts of the country hostage. He expelled them from his government only when, the Islamic Supreme Court kicked them out of Mogadishu and then he did the unthinkable; he invited them back to Baidao where the seat of his so called government is located. What kind of mindless leader would do such a fatal mistake? No doubt Mr. Gedi and his comatose president would.

We know Ethiopian dictator’s claim to be defending the so called Transitional government is all lies and strategy to return Somalia back to Hobbesian Anarchy. If the Ethiopian dictator wants to keep Somalia under the warlord system or the so called Transitional government that he himself hand picked, I have a bad news for him. As a Somali, I always talk to the Somali people and have a good feel for the mood and pulse of the Somali thinking, I know 95% of Somalis are with the Islamic Courts union and remaining five are agnostic and are in the mood of let us wait and see. Somalis would remind you and would tell you that:

Somalis have no option other than to succeed in building their nation in their own terms. Their back is against the wall and they have never been threatened in their nation’s history like today. Their future and those of their next generations are at stake. Ethiopian soldiers have plan B and C to go back to their country or escape to a third country, Somalis don’t have a plan B, if they fail, they perish it is simple as that, so no Somali in fighting age is planning on losing this one. Somalis are planning a total surrender and victory over the warlords and anyone aiding them and protecting them becomes by default the enemy. Therefore, failure is not an option, they win or they and their enemy are going down together.

I hope we do not go in this path but the doomsday scenario will be the TPLF dictator continues to infringe on Somalia’s sovereign territory and continues to meddle with the internal affairs of Somalia. We are going to witness a grim reality and a religious war. We should not be surprised to see a war of “any means necessary” A war where electricity blackouts become daily and common, a war that goes into the Church and Mosques; Unpredictable and hazardous railways and total loss of transportation security, death and destruction of infrastructure, insurrections, mayhem in the streets and towns of small and large.

There sure will be rebel uprising and disintegration of borders, annexation of land, economic sabotage and famine and hunger of apocalyptic scale and not to mention a relentless guerilla warfare campaign. You might be thinking could this be possible? In fact, it looks this to be the inevitable if Meles does not move his troops from Somalia and stay within his own borders. What I have described is not to incite, it is the result of choices that the TPFL leadership has made and is going to make. All you need to do is look any religious war that has taken place in the last 100 years and you would come to the same conclusion.

After all this is a dictator and he does what he feels is good for him and his minority TPFL rule, not what is good for Ethiopia or for the region. I want you to remember taking their enemy with them is okay if Somalis feel they are being exploited, winning is no longer the goal but as the Somali saying goes “if I cannot eat from you, I should spoil from you”, which translates to: if Somalis cannot rebuild their own governing systems then Meles’s government should be spoiled from him.

An examination of the annals of the Somali history shows, Somalis have never accepted a foreign occupation or their stooges; a testimony to that is our struggle with Spain, Italy, Great Britain, Abyssinia and now the Tigrinya led dictatorship. They all found out in harsh way fighting with Somalis and messing with them in an unjust war is not worth it.

At the backdrop of hellish civil war and Meles’s armed thugs, the people of Somalia thanks to the almighty Allah’s gracious benedictions, are once more standing on their two feet, threatened but unshaken and Mogadishu the Temple of our civilization and freedom is emerging from the ruins of bloody civil war and puppet foreign installed warlords. .

Mogadishu 24, August. 06 ( Sh.M.Network) The first cargo ship from Mombasa Kenya, after 11 years, has hooked at Mogadishu’s international seaport, which was only opened on Wednesday.

After a few hours of a big celebration held inside the port, participated by jubilant dignitaries and senior Islamist officials, the cargo ship with the trade mark MV Rojan anchored the newly opened port.

The cargo on board the huge ship include UNICEF relief supplies and business items as confirmed to Shabelle by the ship agent, a Somali business man named Abdi Nor Sahal.

Abdi Nor said that he was very pleased to see a ship for which he is responsible peacefully anchored Mogadishu international seaport for the first time after a decade.

“The ship safely anchored and she is the first one to arrive in Mogadishu since 1995 and we hope this will be a good start”, said Mr. Sahal.

Mogadishu residents who were very joyous gathered around the port watching the ship at port in wonder. They, however, hope that the more cargo ships such as this one arrives at their port, the more decrease of commodity prices they will feel.
