SALT LAKE CITY Fire investigators say body fat is the cause behind a blaze that broke out at a Salt Lake City funeral home.
The fire started on Tuesday at the Gardner Funeral Home.
Fire officials say workers were cremating the remains of a man who weighed more than six-hundred pounds when some of the body fat liquefied and leaked out.
Fire officials say the fat caused a blaze similar to a grease fire. Employees were able to put the blaze out with a fire extinguisher before firefighters arrived. However, fire crews help with smoke removal.
The funeral home did not suffer any damage.
