Nasrallah: Israel Disappearance Inevitable
BEIRUT, Feb 22--Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah said Friday that Israel's disappearance was an established fact and that its presence in the Middle East was only temporary.
In a televised speech broadcast to thousands of Hizbullah supporters in Beirut mosque, Nasrallah said, "The Israeli plan to target the organization's leaders will not weaken Hezbollah," adding the fighters are ready 'to defeat Israel in another war'.
"The disappearance of Israel is inevitable, it is divine law," said Nasrallah at a ceremony to mourn the martyrdom of Hezbollah top commander Imad Mughnieh and other resistance fighters martyred in attacks blamed on Israel.
"The presence of Israel is but temporary and cannot go on in the region," Nasrallah added in comments transmitted via video link to thousands of Hezbollah supporters massed in southern Beirut.
"In Israel there is a unanimous agreement that it lost the war. Using the word's of (Israel's first Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion), that if Israel loses one war it will approach its end, one can understand that this is the situation," he added.
"Now the Israelis are threatening us with war. They threatened before Imad Mugniyah's martyrdom and after it. His martyrdom is an unprecedented move. They are speaking about a strategy of beheading resistance leaders (Hezbollah)," Nasrallah said.
"They believe that they are several leaders, headed by the hajj Imad, who were Hezbollah's main source of strength in the war and that they have to behead these people in order to cause Hezbollah to lose its standing power," he said.
The ceremony held a memorial for three organization's former leaders: Secretary-General Abbas Mousawi, the group's senior intelligence official Imad Mugniyah, and senior official Ragheb Hareb who was martyred in 1988.
