The power of words :words & Human nature !
It's generally acknowledged that the performative function of human language is ...political :
our words are masks , tactics ...we hide behind ...& masks we negociate things by ...to survive , to manipulate , to achieve things ...to make things done ...
The main function of human language is ...survival, so it seems ...at least !
It's mostly not what people do say , it's how they say it that matters the most , & it's especially what they do not say that says it all !
Body language goes together with the voiced words ...the first reveals more than the seconds ...
almost all knowledge is vehicled by ...words :
even holy books are God's word ! , to some extent at least
words are beautiful , inspiring, funny, powerful ...sometimes !
words are "dangerous" , ugly, destructive, empty ...sometimes !
words are weapons of mass_destruction sometimes !
words are just illusive empty rhetorics we create & illusions sometimes !
words are divine sometimes !
words can send people to war sometimes !
words are a licence to kill sometimes !
words are games sometimes !
words can send people even to hell sometimes !
........
so, where comes that magic of the words, of human language from ???
How come they 're so powerful ; so suggestive, so threatening , so dangerous ...even from a distance ! :lol:
How come that some lunatics here for example & elsewhere are so nul & coward they seem to be scared of words ,of unrealistic childish "threats" :lol: even from a distance ???
The only contact we have here is via...words only = linguistic ,
but , still we can tell a lot 'bout one's words, one's way of talking, writing ...'bout one's identity, backgrounds, education, origin, sex, personality .....
where do words, names, verbs ...come from originally ???
Man is still struggling with all these & other questions indeed :
from poets , other artists to scientists, evolutionists, linguists, socio_linguists ....to the philosophy of language, the psychology of language ...
Hitler & others were able to galvanise whole nations via words only mostly ...
Fascinating & funny how the human nature , emotions, anger, .....are contained in ...words !
