Is Dialogue Possible ??? or are confrontation & resistance the ...answer ???
In this so_called American century , where the Americanisation = globalisation & westernization of the whole planet appears to be a done deal & reality at the expense of the other cultures in the rest of the world, imposing one single culture world wide :
the western materialistic consumption culture at the global level via neo_liberalism's world economy , relatively except at the level of some "pockets of resistance " remaining here & there or "renegate states " , individuals, groups, societies, resistance movements .......
In this American century , globalisation had created its opposite : local cultures , ethnicities, races, nationalities ...seem to behave as some protectionist fanatics , excluding others !
In this American century , the so_called rise of India & China are no real threats to the west , in the contrary :
India's & China's economies are interdependent & entertwined with those of the west especially with that economy number 1 in the world : that of the US : India & China will soon behave like Japan in relation to the west :
The same goes for Russia ....
Those remaining "pockets of resistance " here & there : Iran, N.Korea, venezuela, Cuba .....are no real issues or challenges for the west !
Besides :
After the fall of the Berlin's wall & the Soviet Union = the defeat of communism , we "heard " a US _Japanese thinker declaring liberal democracy & capitalism as the "end of history" = their alleged final victory !
Later on , another US thinker presented to the world what he called "The clash of civilizations " as if peoples, individuals humans are only defined by their own cultures or beliefs as their sole identities !
Afterwards , especially in the aftermath of the 9/11 that had changed the world fundamentally , Islam was presented to the world as THE enemy :
in order to hide those fundamental moral ethical political economical social ideological ...western bankrupcies from the public watching eye , especially when western post_modernism had fundamentally proven modernism wrong & had therefore sent modernism's claims of "universalism , truth , objectivity" to Alice's wonderland !
Islam was presented to the world as THE enemy : also in order to revive the dead modernism= Eurocentrism , "enlightenment" for power & domination purposes ; in order to stop muslims ' awakening via the imposed secularisation westernalization of Islam as THE main obstacle & challenge left against western world wide supremacy !
At the other hand , there's a real revolution going world wide at the level of thought, epistemology , ethics , logics .......trying to combine western individualism with Oriental holism for example , while islam is no culture , while islam is already individualistic holistic multidimentional = an understatement !!
A thought revolution trying to take the best of all cultures : "créme de la créme " of all cultures !
A thought revolution under the "leadership" of post_modernistic scientists, thinkers, philosophers, anthropologists, culture psychologists ...mainly , who do call for relativism, pluralism even outside of & beyond western liberal democracy, proving that "objectivity " does not exist at the level of exact sciences, let alone elsewhere :
proving that "universalism , truth , objectivity" don't exist as such when it comes to human thought, cultures , beliefs , ideologies , systems ...if one would take islam out of this "equatiuon" i would add at least !
In short :
How can any culture "study , understand , analyse , interpret " other culture , belief, ideology ............."neutrally , objectively , truely ..." :
It simply can't ! if u take out of this "equation " the fact that islam is the one & only "universal, neutral, true , objective " belief for all humankind : but that's another story !
So, in short , the follwoing then :
Is dialogue possible between individuals from different cultures ; origins , beliefs , ideologies ...as we have here in this forum ????
That sort of dialogue is almost an impossibility :
Fact is : it's proven that westerners & Asians for example think differently ::
it's all a matter of culture , society, that shape our visions of Man, life , the universe ...which in their turn shape our thought, behaviour, epistemology, metaphysics ...to some extent at least !
Is therefore a dialogue possible between different individuals, different cultures, different beliefs , ideologies ....????? in order to try to come up with a new idea of Man, a new idea of progress :
because the latter is not a matter of material progress that had destroyed the eco_systems , a lots of life on earth, that had caused climate change ...that had caused more poverty around the world in poor weak countries , more wars & misery world wide ..."thanks " to that greedy capitalist neo_liberalism's world economoy that had been enslaving the rest of the world & had even been threatening democracy itself by reducing the role of the state , thus of the peoiple to almost nothing :
thanks to those multinationals , capitalists , rich ...that do care only about one thing & one thing only :
maximum profit = maximum production with minimum costs , even at the expense of the work force ....of the social & health care systems ...
So , tell me now , is there a possibility of any dialogue between different individuals, different cultures , beliefs , ideologies ....under western supremacy & western neo_imperialism, under leadership of the new Roman empire : the US ????
