Earlier, on October 29, Mujahideen conducted a large-scale martyrdom operation against a church in Baghdad, subordinated to the Vatican. The battle lasted for 5 hours. US military aircraft took part in it.
When the battle was coming to an end, the Mujahideen pretended to be dead and together with themselves blown up enemy soldiers who approached them. More than 60 elite soldiers of the enemy and more than 40 ordinary Shiite policemen were killed in that operation.
From its side, during the attack on the Catholic church occupied by Mujahideen, the puppet Shiite commandos killed at least 40 Christians.
The government of ISI demand the Vatican to order its subordinate chapter of Coptic Christians in Egypt, Patriarch Shenouda III, that he released from monastery prison 2 Muslim women, Wafaa Constantine and Camilia Shehata, and many other sisters who embraced Islam and for this are subject by the monks to brutally tortures in order to force them to renounce Islam.
The government of ISI gave ultimatum to Vatican on November, stating that if Muslim women are released from the monastery prison in 48 hours, which is "very simple" to do for Shenouda, then the ISI will begin to attack the Christian churches "not only in Iraq but also in Egypt, Syria and other countries in the region", "regardless of their denominations (confessions)".
"You have hundreds of thousands of supporters and hundreds of churches, and they will all our targets, if you do not answer, and may peace be upon those who follow the instruction", said at the end of the statement by the Ministry of Information of the Islamic State of Iraq.
Ultimatum expired on November 3. Muslim women are still in the torture monastery of the Coptic Christians of Ain Shams in Egypt.
