Personal note :
The west would do anything to prevent "democracy" from dawning on Tunisia or on any other Arab country for that matter for obvious reasons .....in order to keep them under western domination :
allowing or not allowing " democracy" in the Arab world depends on the circumstances !
even the establishing of "democracy" itself in Tunisia or in any other country in the non_western world is a form of domination in fact : allowing the further domination & "victory" of western thought & liberal democracy , allowing the further spreading of western materialistic consumption cultures & their materialistic values world wide ...
Does all that mean the "End of history" = the so_called final victory of western secular liberal democracy & capitalism as some moron thinker once said in the '90's of the last century ??? Don't think so !
The west would also try to do anything to prevent the return of islam ...........

Ik hoop heel erg dat het geen Iraans scenario wordt. Dat eerst de gezamenlijke oppositie de dictator (destijds de sjah) verjaagt, waarna een deel van de oppositie (zoals Khomeini en de zijnen) de rest uitmoordt en/of monddood maakt.
Maar goed dit zijn andere tijden, het zijn andere landen, laten we hopen dat dit beter afloopt.
