Islamic science is a thing of the past. Narratives of Islamic science are ghost stories that we tell our children today to shore up their identity as Muslims.
Soon, Muslims will welcome the month of Ramadan. And I will once again witness, with a heavy heart, the board of my local mosque, composed of doctors, computer scientists, and chemists reject science in favor of tradition to determine when Ramadan begins. Rejection of science, for many mosques across the nation, has become a religious ritual of Ramadan.
Yes, science and sharia are surely compatible, but unfortunately at present the believer and science find it hard to co-exist.

well, Bofko raised this same point before urself in his own topic about hawking when i confronted him twith this topic's link earlier
well, making people raise this kindda above mentioned issue as u just did is one of the purposes of these kindda topics in the sense ,in this particular case, that when muslims used to practice their faith as they should have done , they were at the top of the world at all levels , including at the scientific level, making islam's glory a fact , glory that can come back again when islam will come back in the hearts,minds & acts of muslims ;
so, i invite u to read the rest of this t'opic's article carefully if u wanna understabd what i mean ;Do not forget that this is the time of muslims ' decline due to the fact that muslims betrayed their own faith in many ways deserving their fall .
reminds me of the fact that as modern materialistic philo can feed back science & vice versa , idem dito for hinduism, taoism, buddhism, so can islam do that & much better like no other .
P.S.: Do not forget that even modern science itself was the legetimate natural daughter of islam ......Long story .......
do not forget also that materialism as a philosophy & ideology is dominating nowadays in exact sciences & in human sciences , so.......
