World Qods Day rallies start

Tehran, Nov 29 - Fasting Iranians from all walks of life poured into streets on Friday - the last weekend of the holy month of Ramadan in the world of Islam - to raise solidarity with Palestinians and condemn Zionists' merciless crimes and injustices a gainst them.
"Death to Israel" and "Death to US" were among slogans chanted by attendees to the rallies, that are scheduled to culminate in the Tehran University compound, where weekly Friday Prayer congregations are held.
A resolution is to be issued at the end of the huge event as well.
State and military officials, students, Basijis (volunteer forces), teachers, academics, and war veterans are among participants at the anti-Israel demonstration.
The last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan was called as the World Qods Day by Founder of the Islamic Republic and Father of the Islamic Revolution the late Imam Khomeini 24 years ago.
The World Qods Day this year is distinctive from those in the previous years due to its coincidence with the International Day of Solidarity with Palestine, designated by the United Nations.
Iran does not recognize the Zionist state and has always expressed its moral support for resistance groups in the occupied lands.

TEHRAN, Nov 29 - President Mohammad Khatami joined huge number of Tehrani citizens on Friday to showcase Muslim world's strong support for Palestinian cause in the World Qods Day rallies.
President Khatami alike other citizens braved heavy rainfall and marched towards the Tehran University compound, where weekly Friday Prayer congregations are held.
Dozens of Iranian and foreign reporters and photographers covered the president's participation in the demonstration.

Jews support liberation of Palestine

Tehran, Nov 29 - The Community of Iranian Jews calls for liberation of Palestine from Israeli occupation, said a Jewish participant in the World Qods Day rallies in Tehran on Friday.
Davood Kalimeh said that the UN charter of the human rights is unfortunately not observed in many deprived countries and certain nations suffer from injustice and tyranny imposed by hegemonic powers.
He said that Palestine is among those communities, where human rights are devoid of any sense and concept and are fully ignored and its original residents are constantly threatened and attacked.
Calling as "futile" Israel's unabated invasion on defenseless Palestinian people he said that the Palestinian nation defends its occupied motherland in defiance of Israeli Regime's offensives to crush the Intifada uprising.
He said the World Qods Day rallies mark the climax of the of Muslim nations' support for defenseless nation of Palestine.
Kalimeh lauded the vast presence of other religious minorities in such rallies aimed at saving the oppressing Palestinian nation from the usurper Israeli Regime's clutches.
