Nathanel Ozeri, 34, killed in Friday's shooting attack near Hebron, was married to Livnat and was a father of five children. Several yaars ago he built his home and farm on Lot 26, two kilometers east of Givat Harsina. Only Ozeri's family and a few other youuth live on the lot.

Ozeri was born in Jerusalem and stidued at the Jewish Idea yeshiva, established by the outlawed Kach founder Meir Kahane.

The farm Ozeri built was evacuated, in accordance with an agreement between the Yesha council and former prime minister Ehud Barak, but when Barak was replaced in 2001 the settlers were allowed to return. Three weeks ago Ozeri was released after serving a four-month prison sentence for participating in riots during the funeral of Staff Sergeant Eliezer Leibovitch, who was killed in a July terror attack in Hebron.

Ozeri had seven police files on violent attacks, with the most serious case being his conduct during Leibovitch's funeral. Ozeri, who was carrying a weapon, was arrested after several funeral participants fired at Palestinian homes in the area. Nivin Jamjum, 14, was shot dead while standing on the roof of her house and two of her brothers were injured trying to evacuate her. Police tracked 30 settlers who participated in the rioting, but none of them were suspected of firing at the Jamjum home.

The security establishment fears that right-wing activists will also act violently during Ozeri's funeral. Security officials said that Ozeri was perceived as the leader of the "hilltop youths" engaged in violent activities in the West Bank, and fear that the youths will vent their anger during the funeral.

Het huis van deze terreurmaker is niet opgeblazen, toch vreemd dat Palestijnen zo boos zijn.

Settlers rampage
In the hours leading up to the funeral, settlers rampaged through Hebron, smashing the windows of Palestinian homes and setting cars ablaze.

Hundreds of Ozeri's friends - former activists of the outlawed Kach movement - gathered in the divided West Bank city for the funeral procession. Dozens of youths threw stones at a Palestinian home near Givat Harsina and lit a fire nearby.

The settlers also hurled insults at the IDF soldiers securing the procession, calling them Nazis and villains. Some of the participants in the procession carried a large black flag bearing the emblem of the outlawed extreme-right Kach movement.

Ozeri's father-in-law Shaul Nir, a former member of the Jewish underground who was sentenced in 1985 for life for the murder of Palestinians in Hebron and then pardoned in 1990 by President Haim Herzog, delivered a eulogy calling for revenge.

The funeral was held under heavy security for fear of settlers' attempt to attack Palestinians during the funeral. Ozeri himself was jailed for participating in riots during the funeral of a terror victim in Hebron in July 2002.

On Saturday night, residents of the Hebron settlement of Kiryat Arba attacked Palestinians living in the area where the attack occurred.

Palestinian residents of the area said they had not left their homes since the attack. Anwar Sultan said that some settlers raided his home, set fire to his kitchen and car, and beat his son's wife. He added that the settlers fled when IDF troops arrived, but returned as soon as the soldiers had left.

In a separate incident, Samiha Jabar and her son, Samah, required hospital treatment after they were attacked by settlers Saturday morning.
