Morocco decided to sent an urgent humanitarian aid and technical assistance to support the Algerian earthquake-stricken populations, upon instructions of King Mohammed VI's.
The aid consists of a 45-men civil rescue squad endowed with two clearing vehicles, two recovery trucks, a crane, sheltering material comprising 15,000 blankets and 1,000 tents. The urgent aid was conveyed both by air and land.
King Mohammed VI gave his instructions to Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity and the health ministry in order to send foodstuff and medicines to the earthquake-stricken Algerians.
The Moroccan king had earlier sent the Algerian President, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, a message of condolences following the earthquake that jolted the capital city of Algiers and its outskirts, claiming more than 1200 lives.
