"1st flower export terminal will soon open"

Tehran, Sept 2, IRNA -- Commerce Minister Mohammad Shariatmadari said here on Monday evening that the first flower export and greenhouse terminal will become operational in Mahallat by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (ending March 19).
Commerce Minister Mohammad Shariatmadari: The first flower export terminal measures 800 hectares, out of which 150 hectares will be implemented in the first phase.

Turning to 90 percent boost in export of flower within the first four months compared to the similar period last year, he noted that Iran is to sharply increase its export of various flowers.
"Producers and exporters of flower should find out the world flower market`s requirements and base their production on their demands," he added.
The minister also proposed formation of a flower export support fund to integrate efforts of all organizations involved in export of flower and promote the business.
