Baby Girl Found in Concrete Block
The remains of a baby girl, who police have named 'Lara', were found entombed in a concrete block at a garage near Workington, Cumbria, UK. back in Sept. 2002. A reconstruction of the block has now gone on display as police revealed details.
Leading the investigation, Detective Chief Inspector Andy Carter, from the Cumbria Police said: "Lara had a miserable existence in her short life and there has been an attempt to conceal the body. People living close to her would have heard her cry."
Baby Lara had an untreated abscess in her mouth that would have been very painful. The possibility of doing mass DNA screening in the area have not been ruled out. Carter added: "We will arrange a proper funeral for her and she will be laid to rest."
