Los Angeles, Alta California - September 18, 2003

On September 14, the US Army stated unequivocally that only 667 American troops have been wounded in Iraq. Yesterday, however, the British newspaper "The Observer" reported that as many as 6,000 U.S. servicemen have been evacuated for medical reasons since the beginning of the war on March 20.

The Observer's report said that of the 6,000, more than 1,500 American soldiers have been wounded, many seriously. "The figures will shock many Americans, who believe that casualties in the war in Iraq have been relatively light," said the paper, highlighting "slipping" popular support for U.S. President George Bush's policy in Iraq. The British newspaper reported that wounded US military servicemen are returning home with little publicity, adding that giant "C-17 transport jets on medical evacuation missions land at Andrews Air Force Base, near Washington, every night".

The Bush Administration's policy of "minimizing" Iraq casualty reports was made clear today when at least 8 additional US soldiers were blown up and killed in an ambush in Khaldiyah. More and more Americans are now depending on the foreign press and alternative news media such as La Voz de Aztlan to obtain reliable reports about what is actually occurring concerning the US occupation of Iraq. It almost seems that the US government has given orders to the US press to keep quite about the heavy losses the country is actually suffering in Iraq.

Today, at least 8 more US soldiers met a gruesome death and an unknown number of others wounded when a convoy in the town of Khaldiyah was ambushed by rocket propelled grenades. The sophisticated Iraqi guerrilla operation began when the lead truck of the convoy exploded after going over a land mine. As the soldiers in the lead truck were burning to death, other soldiers were blown up with grenades as they attempted a rescue. Pictures from Khaldiyah showed US military vehicles burning fiercely as American helicopters circled above. So far, the US media has not reported the horrific ambush and television as well as radio stations are silent and focusing, as usual, on topics such as the "Jennifer Lopez breakup" and the new talk show with the degenerate Ellen Degeneres.

There are other more disturbing reports concerning the nature of the casualties in Iraq. There are now reports that as many as 40,000 of the 130,000 US troops in Iraq are non-citizen aliens recruited by unscrupulous military recruiters on the south side of the US/Mexico border. These recruiters are promising "green cards" to young Mexican men who join the army to fight in Iraq. Unfortunately, for these young men, they are not told that they will be assigned to the front lines. They are essentially being utilized as cannon fodder.

Worst of all there are, as of yet unconfirmed, reports that the Pentagon is not counting the casualties suffered by these "undocumented soldiers". These soldiers are given special uniform insignia and are treated differently from the regular US soldiers.
The reports say that Mazen Dana, the Palestinian journalist who was killed by US soldiers in Iraq on August 17 was eliminated because he had pictures and was about to release a report confirming that the Pentagon actually buries these "undocumented soldiers" in the desert and never even sends their bodies back home.

According to the report, journalist Mazen Dana had pictures showing US Army bulldozers shoving dead bodies with US military uniforms into open pits in the desert outside Baghdad. Mazen Dana was about to release a report that proved that these dead soldiers belonged to military companies consisting of these "undocumented soldiers".
