Explosion rocks Karachi
There has been an explosion in the city of Karachi in southern Pakistan.
A large cloud of smoke was seen from the site of the explosion, which took place on Friday night in a business district in the east of the city.
Police told the AP news agency a bomb had caused the blast.
A doctor in the city, Zafar Iqbal, told AP the blast could be heard across much of the city.
There has been no confirmation of any casualties.
Police have cordoned off the area.
