Putin Likely to Visit Kingdom by January

JEDDAH, 22 September 2003 — Russian President Vladimir Putin is likely to visit Saudi Arabia in December or January in response to an invitation by Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard.
“This will be the first visit by a Russian president to Saudi Arabia and reflects the growing relations between the two countries,” a diplomatic source in Riyadh told Al-Hayat Arabic newspaper.
Putin’s visit to the Kingdom comes after Crown Prince Abdullah’s historic meeting with the Russian president at the Kremlin earlier this month.
