Seven die in Pakistan bus attack

Gunmen have opened fire on a bus carrying Shia Muslim worshippers in Pakistan's city of Karachi, killing seven and wounding seven, police said.

The bus was carrying about 20 Shia Muslims to Friday afternoon prayers, said police official Athar Rashid Butt.

No one has yet said they carried out the attack in the west of the city.

However in recent years, sectarian violence between Sunni Muslims and minority Shias has killed hundreds.

Karachi police said the latest attack was a highly organised act of terrorism.

The bus had been carrying both Sunnis and Shias but the raid occurred after the Sunnis had been dropped off at their mosque.

Police said the gunmen tracked the bus on two motorcycles and fired dozens of rounds before escaping.

Three of the wounded were in a critical condition.

5 Shiite Moslems martyred in Karachi

Karachi, Oct 3 - At least five Shiite Muslims were martyred and seven injured while travelling to a mosque for Friday prayers in Pakistan's largest city Karachi, police said.
"Two men riding on a motorbike opened fire on their passenger van as they were going for Friday prayers," Karachi city police chief Tariq ***** told AFP.
"Five people were killed on the spot while seven were injured.Three of them are in a serious condition."
The victims were employees of a defence research body called Space and Upper Atmospheric Research Organisation (SUPARCO).
They routinely travelled to a local mosque on Friday, Islam's holy day,to offer prayers, ***** said.
The dead included a soldier from Pakistan army's medical corps, residents said. Witnesses said the attackers intercepted the vehicle in what appeared to be targetted killing.
"The attackers came on a motorbike and blocked the way of the van. They first fired at the driver, who died on the spot.
Then the attackers sprayed bullets into the van from all sides," said a survivor. "I and others tucked under the seats to save ourselves from the bullets," he said, requesting not to be identified by name.
A Shiite political party blamed the attack on two outlawed Sunni extremist outfits. "Lashkar-e-Jhangavi (LJ) and Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan(SSP) are the local operators of Al-Qaeda and this (killings) is part of the appeal made by Al-Zawahiri to topple Pervez Musharraf's government,"Hasan Turabi, regional chief of the Shiite Tehrik-e-Islamia group, told AFP.
"I fear more incidents of this nature will occur and I demand that operations should be conducted not only on the border with Afghanistan but also against local Al-Qaeda operators," Turabi said.
President Pervez Musharraf, whose country is a key ally in the US-led war on terror, last year banned LJ and SSP in an effort to curb sectarian violence which has claimed the lives of some 4,000 people in the past few years.
Dozens of doctors from the minority Shiite Muslim community have also been killed in attacks over the past few years in violence-plagued Karachi.
Shiites comprise about 20 percent of Pakistan's Sunni-dominated 140 million population.

SHAHEEN,

Both Shia and Sunni Muslims have been killed by the Wahabi Sipah e Sahaba and Lashkar e Jhangavi in Pakistan. The Afghani Wahabis, Taliban, have killed thousands of Shias and Sunnis from the Hazara community in the province of Bamiyan. Saddam Hussain, the Iraqi version of King Fahad, has killed thousands of Shia and Sunni Muslims in Iraq.

With the financial backing from Saudi Arabia and
ammunition, protection and training from the Pakistan
government, Sipah e Sahaba and Lashkar e Jhangavi
have been openly killing Shias in Pakistan for many years
now. Hiding behind the name of Sahaba Ikram (RA), these Wahabi terrorists tried to portray themselves as Sunni Muslims. But alhamdolillah the Sunni Muslims of Pakistan openly denounced these Wahabis and their terrorist
activities. When they were rejected by the Sunni Muslims,
the Sipah e Sahaba started killing the Sunni Ulema and
leaders as well. This clearly showed that the Sipah e
Sahaba was purely a Wahabi/Deobandi militant
organisation which only wants to eliminate anyone who
hates Yazeed (Laeen ibn e Laeen). Their prime goal, like
the Saudis is to kill, torture and oppress the followers of
Ahlul Bayt (AS), whether Shias or Sunnis. Using the name
of Sunni Muslims, these Nasbi butchers have killed scores
of innocent Shia Muslims and have tried to create hatred
among Sunni and Shia brethren.

In Pakistan the clergy is deeply divided. It cannot form itself into a single party or an alliance of parties supported by the people. Unlike the people of Iran, the people of Pakistan prefer to award political mandate only to political parties. Divided along confessional fissures, they seek a unified electorate through support to political parties. But they remain alienated because the textbook prescribes the Shariat and the political parties are not ‘qualified’ to enforce it. When they enforce it, problems of reconciliation of the Quranic law to modern times fore–ordain its failure. Alienation is built into this situation.
