NEW YORK, Oct. 15 /U.S. Newswire/ -- In a statement released this morning, American Friends of Likud strongly condemned the terrorist attack that killed three U.S. diplomats in the Gaza strip today.
"This outrageous attack falls squarely at the feet of both the Palestinian Authority and the government of Egypt" said Dr. Julio Messer, president of American Friends of Likud. "The Palestinian Authority's responsibility stems from their utter refusal to take any real action against terrorist organizations. This is just another indication of how Palestinian terrorism is not just a threat to Israel, but also to America and the entire west."
Ari Harow, executive director of American Friends of Likud, said that the PA is not the culprit. "Where did the explosives used to blow up the American Jeep come from? Just last week an Israeli operation revealed, and not for the first time, 3 major tunnels between Egypt and PA-controlled Gaza, used to smuggle in weapons, explosives detonators and missiles. Harow added: "Egypt has systematically turned a blind eye to its short border with Gaza and allowed the smuggling to continue unabated."
Messer added, "As the second-largest beneficiary of American foreign military aid, Egypt's role in the global war on terror should be unambiguous. But by allowing the transfer of explosives and weapons into the Gaza Strip, explosives that were used today to murder American citizens, Egypt should be held accountable for these murders."
