Geheel in lijn van zijn amerikaanse en britse collega's terroriseert ook Berlusconi nu zijn volk met "vermeende"en "voorkomen"aanslagen. Alleen Berlusconni gaat nog een stapje verder en profileert zich als een ware held die de terroristen eigenhandig heeft weten tegen te houden.

Vatican was terror target on Christmas: Berlusconi
Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said in an interview published on Saturday that he had information before Christmas about a "precise" threat of a terrorist attack on Rome and the Vatican planned for Christmas Day.
Mr Berlusconi said in the interview with the Libero newspaper, conducted on Christmas Eve, that he had precise intelligence that there were plans to hijack a plane above the Vatican.
Christmas celebrations at the Vatican led by Pope John Paul passed without incident, and there were no reports of any foiled attack.
A Vatican spokesman, asked about Mr Berlusconi's comments, said he did not comment on security matters.
"The threat from terrorism is extremely high at this moment. I've spent today (December 24) in Rome to deal with the situation," Mr Berlusconi said in the interview.
"Now I'm calm. It will pass... I don't say this out of fatalism but because I am aware that our defences are very high. If that is what they have organised, they won't make it."
He gave no details of who was believed to be behind such a planned attack or of any measures taken to prevent it.
Air France
United States officials said on Friday one or more terror suspects might have escaped due to a premature disclosure in France of security concerns behind the cancellation of Christmas flights on Air France to Los Angeles.
Six flights between Paris and Los Angeles were cancelled on Wednesday and Thursday at the urging of Washington, after US officials spotted what they believed were suspicious names on lists of those due to board the planes.
Air France made clear at the time the cancellations had been ordered for security reasons.
There was no indication of any link between Mr Berlusconi's comments and the cancellation of the Paris flights.
No one was immediately available for comment at the Italian Prime Minister's office.
The Interior Ministry, in charge of national security, declined to comment.
Mr Berlusconi also said in the Libero interview that in November he had received information about a possible attack on the subway in Milan or Rome, without giving further details.
He said he had decided against closing the subway systems to avoid creating panic, but had ordered security measures doubled.
Italian police boosted security at the Vatican and around churches before Christmas, though the Interior Ministry said on December 18 it had received no specific threats.
The Conciliazione, a broad avenue running from the river Tiber to St Peter's Square, has been closed to traffic from midnight until 7:00am (local time) since December 15, an unprecedented measure.
The decision to block the Conciliazione at night came after the newspaper La Repubblica reported that the Israeli secret services had warned of a "probable attack in Italy" against a major Christian symbol at Christmas.
The Interior Ministry had declined to comment on that report.
