Karukenya dares any man in Africa to challenge him
A 58-year-old man in Kenya has boasted he is the strongest man in Africa.
Conrad Edward Njeru Karukenya also known as "Tiger Power" has dared any man in Africa to face him in a test of strength contest.
His popular shows involve using his teeth to break iron nails, lift crates of beer and lifting heavy adults with his stomach.
Mr Karukenya has staged shows in Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and Egypt.
"All is do is train hard, I wake up everyday at four in the morning, do lots of exercises and eat well. I don't drink, smoke and indulge in life's excesses,'' Mr Karukenya told the BBC.
Continental challenge
The BBC's John Nene in Nairobi says the man has on several occasions stunned spectators with his "dare devil" performances in clubs and public parks.
The crowd shouted at the driver to stop
At a recent show, the audience shouted to stop a driver from running over his stomach with a four wheel drive vehicle as he lay on the ground.
But to their disbelief, the car moved steadily over Tiger Power's belly leaving him unmoved.
Mr Karukenya hails from Embu in Eastern Kenya and started his shows of power while still in school in 1963.
