Incest Trial Of 13 Family Members Begins
Thirteen member of the same French family have gone on trial for rape and sexual assault, carried out by grandparents, parents, uncles and aunts against a total of ten children, all of whom are brothers and sisters.
The accused members of the family, from the Lot-et-Garonne region of south-west France, are aged between 29 and 74. Specific charges include rape of minors, gang rape, barbarous acts and sexual assault.
The hidden truth behind the familys activities was thrown into the open when one of the grandchildren, a 16 year old boy, who was found guilty of raping his sister, spoke of how he had been a victim of sexual assult since the age of 5.
