167 Kashmiris martyred, 11 in custody during March 2004
39 women widowed, 177 children orphaned
Islamabad, April 01(KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Indian army continuing its state terrorism, martyred another 167 Kashmiris during the month of March 2004 including 152 men, 9 women and 6 children. Eleven Kashmiris were martyred in custody.
According to statistical data compiled by Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, 39 women were widowed and 117 children orphaned as a result of killing of their husbands/fathers by the occupation troops during the period under review. Thirty one women fell victim to molestation and gang rape by the Indian army personnel during the outgoing month. Around 19 Kashmiris mostly youth kidnapped by Indian army disappeared under mysterious circumstances during custody in March 2004. Indian occupation army personnel tortured and critically injured 428 innocent civilians and arrested another 298 persons on fake charges during the month.
In its orgy of wreckage and plunder, the Indian army arsoned 66 residential houses and shops during last month.
According to the details verified by Kashmir Media Service's, Research Section, 7554 Kashmiri civilians are under detention at present at various jails and interrogation centers across occupied Kashmir and India.
