The Moroccan Government has worked out a draft law to fight corruption in public services, with the aim to promote transparency.

The announcement was made, here Wednesday, by Najib Zerouali Moroccan minister in charge of modernizing the public sectors, during the weekly question time at the House of Representatives (Parliament).

He said the law project which was drafted by his department in coordination with the Justice ministry, aims to promote transparency, guarantee equality of chances concerning access to the public services, and also encourage competition.

The draft law also provides for "administrative sanctions and repressive measures and encourages citizens to denounce corruption."

The minister added that his department has also drafted a "chart of good conduct" for civil servants in their relations with citizens.
