The Israel Defense Forces said Friday that it had suffered casualties in heavy fighting during the day between troops near the Philadelphi Route in the southern Gaza Strip, and Palestinian militants in the adjacent Rafah refugee camp.

At least two Israeli troops were killed Friday in heavy fighting in the southern Gaza Strip. Two other soldiers suffered moderate wounds. The soldiers were hit fron an RPG rocket.
